Is now the time to strike? by Justin Blows

Innovators may be feeling that the wheels have fallen off Australia’s low carbon future, with postponement of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme legislation untill 2013.

I would be careful acting on those feeling.  I heard the CEO of AGL, Michael Fraser speak today at an AMCHAM event.  AGL is a large energy company.  His view was that a low carbon future is inevitable and he is positioning AGL accordingly.  I’ve got a feeling that he is not the only heavy hitter with a positive long term view on a low carbon future.

Now would be a fantastic time to innovate and protect.  While others are feeling that it’s not worth the effort, those that invent and protect now could end up with an overwhelming commercial advantage when things start moving again on the political front as they must.
