The not for profit organisation Beyond Zero Emissions has released a synopsis of their report titled Australian Sustainable Energy; Zero Carbon Australia Stationary Energy Plan

The synopsis states that Australia could for the cost of a cup of coffee a day for every Australian, feasibly source 100% of all of Australia’s electricity from renewable sources by 2020, many times more than the 20% that the government is planning.  In particular, the report has a plan for supplying 60% of Australia’s electricity from solar, and the reminder from wind.

The report's proposed 100% renewable grid

It is an interesting report.  In contrast to previous reports that concentrate on the economics, this report includes engineering details.
