According to this report, Mitsubishi is claiming that GE is not playing fair in the US wind turbine market, and has filed an antitrust case against GE. Mitsubishi alleges that customers have been unnecessarily scared off by GE’s allegations of patent infringement by Mitsubishi’s products.

Mitsubishi is quoted as saying:
“Since GE’s litigation campaign began [Mitsubishi’s American unit] has not sold a single variable-speed turbine in the US,” the Japanese group said.

What ever you think, it goes to show how powerful a well thought out patent strategy can be, in this case to GE’s benefit.
